VisuaCAPDA is a joint project between the Technical University Berlin and the Aerospace
Engineering & Information Technology Company PACE. As a tool for
the analysis and conceptual design of commercial aircraft, it
continuously supports the whole procedure of conceptual aircraft
design (interactive initialization of the aircraft geometry, synthesis of
aircraft design, and optimization of design parameter). It can also be
used in the evaluation of competing configurations and analysis of flight
and operating performance (e.g. direct operating costs, noise emission).
VisualCAPDA is characterized by its modular concept, modern
graphical user interface(GUI), extendible methods library, extensive
database for engine, airfoil and aircraft, powerful post-processing, as
well as an open and flexible system architecture. Its advanced idea is
applicable to any software system handling other engineering products
such as vehicle and turbine machine. Three programming languages
(C/C++, FORTRAN and K ShellScript) are used in it.
